Medical billing for NextGen Enterprise practices

Keep your team’s NextGen Enterprise workflow. Taiga handles the managed billing work around it, from coding review and claim submission through denials and patient billing. Map the exact handoff for your practice before making a change.

NextGen Enterprise PM has its own encounter and claim-edit process. Taiga's role is managed billing, not a claim to replace that software or its rules.

From encounter to claim follow-up

NextGen's Enterprise PM guide describes encounter charges, claim edits, and pending claims. The sequence below separates that documented vendor process from the managed work Taiga offers; the precise division is set during onboarding.

Start with the documented encounter

Your clinicians keep documenting care in NextGen Enterprise. Confirm whether your practice also uses Enterprise PM, where charges are recorded, and which team marks encounters ready for billing. NextGen's PM guide distinguishes Unbilled and Rebill encounters from already billed work.

Review coding with the physician

Taiga's published service drafts ICD-10 and CPT suggestions from clinical documentation. The treating physician reviews and approves codes before Taiga submits a claim. Agree on where that approval fits your existing charge-review process.

Check the claim handoff

NextGen Enterprise PM runs encounter charges through configured claim edits before a pending claim can be created. Taiga's billing team needs an agreed owner for edits, submission, and rework so a failed edit is addressed rather than lost between teams.

Work the response and balance

Taiga's managed service covers payer follow-up, denials and appeals, and patient billing. Decide where remittances and balances will be reviewed and posted in your actual PM arrangement; this page does not promise an automatic return of data into NextGen.

Keep the clinical routine, assign the billing work

The operational gain is a named owner for each revenue-cycle step, not another queue for your staff.

Keep NextGen for care

Clinicians can continue the charting process they use today while Taiga evaluates the billing handoff for that specific setup.

Keep physician judgment

The doctor of record reviews the proposed codes. Billing operations continue after approval rather than bypassing clinical sign-off.

Follow claim exceptions

NextGen's claim-edit results can stop a pending claim from being created. Define who resolves those exceptions, then who owns payer rejections and denials after submission.

Questions for a NextGen handoff

Taiga's published onboarding describes EHR connection, payer enrollment, and migration. Timing and scope depend on your modules and current billing setup; ask for a practice-specific plan.

Which NextGen products?

Identify Enterprise EHR, Enterprise PM, and any separate billing or clearinghouse tools. Note which team records charges and which team performs claim edits.

Who owns each queue?

Walk through physician approval, Unbilled or Rebill encounters, claim-edit failures, submission, payer responses, payment posting, and patient balances before changing ownership.

What is the cutover?

Agree on the first dates of service Taiga will handle and who owns claims already in flight and aged A/R. Confirm the permitted access and timeline with the practice and Taiga.

For independent teams keeping NextGen

This is for an independent practice that plans to keep its NextGen Enterprise clinical workflow but wants a managed billing partner rather than staffing every submission and denial queue. It is not a self-service replacement for Enterprise PM.

What this page does not establish

Taiga lists NextGen Healthcare among the EMRs it works with, but its public site does not identify supported versions, modules, connection methods, real-time behavior, write-back, or vendor partnership. NextGen's published PM workflow does not prove which parts Taiga can operate in your configuration. Validate the access path and responsibilities in a demo.

Questions from NextGen Enterprise practices

Can we keep NextGen Enterprise if we use Taiga?

Taiga lists NextGen Healthcare among the EMRs it works with. The intended discussion is how to keep the practice's clinical workflow while handing off managed billing. Confirm your Enterprise EHR and PM configuration before changing processes.

Does Taiga replace NextGen Enterprise PM claim edits?

This page makes no such claim. NextGen documents claim edits as part of Enterprise PM billing. Decide with Taiga which team handles failed edits, pending claims, submission, and follow-up in your setup.

Who approves codes before a claim goes out?

Taiga's published workflow says the treating physician reviews and approves its suggested ICD-10 and CPT codes before submission. Ask how that approval will align with your current NextGen charge-review steps.

Will payments and denials automatically appear in NextGen?

Do not assume it. Taiga's public site does not publish a NextGen-specific write-back or reconciliation method. Agree on where remittances, denials, patient balances, and older A/R will be handled.

How quickly can we switch?

Taiga gives a general onboarding target in its FAQ, not a NextGen-specific commitment. Existing claim inventory, payer enrollment, approved access, and PM configuration determine a realistic cutover plan.
