Taiga exists to keep independent practices independent. Not as a market thesis on a slide — as something we watched our own families live.
The origin story
Where Taiga came from
Nanda Guntupalli and Adam Wax both grew up inside small, independent medical practices — the kind their parents built and ran. From the waiting-room chairs, they watched something that never showed up in the brochure for being a doctor: the hours that bled out of patient care and into billing admin.
Claims went out late. Clean-looking claims came back denied. Small denials piled up until they quietly added up to real money — money a practice needed to keep its doors open. And every hour spent chasing a payer was an hour not spent with a patient. The people best equipped to care for a community were being slowly ground down by the paperwork required to get paid for it.
Meanwhile, consolidation kept accelerating. Corporate billing incumbents treated small practices as an afterthought, and each practice that couldn't keep up became one more absorbed into a larger system. We didn't want to watch the independent practice disappear. We wanted to build the thing that would have given our parents their evenings back.
So we built Taiga: an AI-native medical billing partner that actually does the work — pairing experienced billers and coders with AI that handles the repetitive fight with payers. Independent practice first, because that's the practice we come from.

Every decision we make gets weighed against one question: does this help an independent practice stay independent? We don't build for the largest health systems. We build for the doctor who owns their own front desk.
The enemy is the paperwork, never the clinician.
Doctors didn't train for a decade to spend their evenings fighting denials. Our job is to take the administrative burden off their desk so they can get back to patients — not to add another dashboard they have to babysit.
AI belongs on the practice's side.
