Keep Sessions Health and hand claims to a biller

Sessions Health handles notes, scheduling, claims, and ERA auto-posting for therapists in one place. Its Biller role can manage claims and payments without opening clinical documentation. This page shows how a therapy practice could hand that work to Taiga.

Book a demoThe key question is whether a Biller member fits the work and how documentation reaches Taiga for coding. Exact access is confirmed on a call.

Pending Submission

Past sessions queue as claims to send

Needs Review

Denied claims flagged for follow-up

Remittance

ERAs apply payment and mark claims paid

How claims move through Sessions Health

Sessions Health turns completed sessions into claims once insurance settings are in place.

Turn on insurance features

Insurance features are enabled under Billing Settings, with account, payer, and client insurance settings filled in. Missing payer IDs or enrollments block claims, so start with a settings review.

Submit pending claims

Insurance-eligible sessions that have occurred appear under Insurance > Pending Submission, where claims can be checked and sent. Agree whether Taiga submits these or reviews them after your team.

Post remittances

Once a payer's remittance enrollment is approved, ERAs post automatically and mark claims paid. Denied claims are marked Needs Review.

Work denials and resubmissions

Claims can be resubmitted or voided in Sessions Health. Taiga would own the Needs Review queue and each appeal if that is the agreed scope.

What changes for a Sessions Health practice

Therapists keep the platform they chose. Someone else takes the claims queue.

A named owner for denials

Claims marked Needs Review get worked through appeal instead of waiting for a free afternoon.

Clinician approval stays

Therapists approve codes before submission, so clinical judgment stays with the clinician.

Balances followed up

Patient statements and follow-up run alongside insurance claims.

Confirm these Sessions Health details first

Roles and enrollments decide what an outside team can do.

Can you add a Biller?

A Biller manages billing settings, claims, and payments and can view diagnoses, but cannot see clinical documentation. Confirm how Taiga reviews notes for code drafting.

Which payers are enrolled?

Check that claims and remittance enrollments are complete for each payer.

Incident-to or courtesy billing?

Sessions Health supports incident-to billing and out-of-network courtesy billing. Flag either so the handoff covers them.

What is outstanding?

List open claims and client balances so Taiga can take them over or run beside your team.

For therapy practices on Sessions Health

Mental health is a specialty Taiga names publicly. A solo or group therapy practice on Sessions Health that wants claims and denials off its plate is worth a fit call.

What this page does not promise

Taiga does not claim a Sessions Health integration, API, or automatic sync. The access path is agreed on a call and set up by your administrator.

Questions from Sessions Health practices

Do we have to switch away from Sessions Health?

No. Taiga works alongside your existing EHR, and clinicians keep documenting in Sessions Health.

Can a Biller see therapy notes in Sessions Health?

Not by default. Sessions Health says a Biller can view diagnoses but not clinical documentation unless also assigned the Practitioner role, so agree how notes are shared for coding.

Who handles claims marked Needs Review?

Under a handoff, Taiga works denials and appeals. Confirm on a call which queues its team will monitor.

Can Taiga pick up claims we already sent?

Yes. Taiga can take over open A/R or run in parallel, and in-flight claims are separated from new sessions at cutover.
